Really great tools at a very affordable price.

Couple important points:
#1 - The drill and the driver both now come with the belt clips found on the more expensive line, that was a nice surprise.
#2 - The light does not have the ability to mount a belt clip to it. This is by no means a deal breaker but would be a very handy option for a few situations.

Not much else to add to all the other glowing reviews. I borrowed the impact driver on a job, fell in love and decided to get the set.

I have been remodeling a house for the past 2 years. I was using Craftsman cordless tools. I wore them out. First the batteries literally burned up. And then the drill totally died. I purchased the Makita LCT300W 18 volt Compact lithium-ion cordless 3 piece combo kit. I did this because I had an old Makita cordless drill that was 25 years old and still working. I was relying on Makita's longevity. To say the least I love the new set. They are lightweight and small and pack a lot of power. I would recommend this to anyone who plans on USING the tools. I would have loved a hard case and gone without the light. But otherwise it's great.

VERY Nice Tools

Powerful driver, powerful drill in compact frame. I used both to renovate my wrap-around front porch to "sister" joists and drive 20 lbs of #10 & #9 3.5" deck screws. I would recharge the compact batteries nightly, but was never even close to draining them.

Top-notch compact set. The LED lights stay one a few seconds after you pull the trigger so you can view your work. Invaluable when used in an awkward position in case you need to drive a little farther.

Nice case, nice flashlight, excellent charger. If you want a compact drill/driver set that performs like the full size devices, you will be very pleased with this set.

solid value, excellent tools

I couldn't possibly write anything that hasn't already been said about this set, but I can confirm the following:

-excellent battery life, the batteries stay charged beautifully. Charging time is less than 15 minutes, which is excellent.
-the ergonomics of both the little impact and the drill are excellent, the grip is better than any drill I've owned before.
-fairly light, considering that it's an 18 volt drill, it's not heavy, but it is very well balanced, easy to hold.
-excellent clutch, and speed setting switch has come in handy in more than a few occasions, this thing can hit like a hammer and spin soft and smooth.
-looks really cool, although after a few shifts at work it's already looking brown from the dirt. Still looks cool when it's dirty.

If you're in need of a solid drill I can't think of a better deal than this, the impact driver and flashlight are a nice bonus for the extra $50 this costs over the standalone drill.
