Great price
I actually ordered the model below the 452 but Makita called and told me they were out of that model but they would send me the next model up for the same price. Got it in 3 days. Awesome drill. The batteries hold their charge great. Its heavy but powerfull. This was a reconditioned model and it works great.

Makita Battery drill
I've used Makita tools professionally in my shop for over 20 years and they have proved to good performers and durable. I have an angle drill that is over fifteen years old that's still going and the batteries are still recharging (and are still available). This new drill has a lot of torque in a compact package. Unlike other battery drills that I've had this one has a 1/2 inch chuck capacity.

Worst Drill Ever
I have friends and family that all rave about Makita drills. I have used plenty of different brands, from corded to cordless. So when it came time for me to actually need to buy my own, I did some research and decided that with all the good reviews online and from people I actually know that I would buy this Makita drill. What a horrible mistake. The only thing good about this drill is that Makita has a 30 day satisfaction guarantee; so at least I can get my money back. But my time wasted is just gone.

The first one I bought I used and it seemed to work ok but the drill and screw bits I was using seemed to be wobbly when I put them in. I thought maybe I was just putting them in wrong and that it was my fault. But upon further inspection, I realized that it was the drill that was actually slightly off center, which was causing the bits to not rotate straight. Obviously that isn't good when you want precision. So I returned it and got another one; it must have been just a fluke. I get the second one home, take it out, run some tests on it, and it has the exact same problem. It's not as noticeable but it still is not the way it is supposed to be. I thought Makita did quality checks on every drill? I guess their acceptable level of build quality just isn't that strict. I know some of you will probably just claim I don't know how to properly put the bits in the drill, but I can assure you that I do. Just two weeks ago I borrowed my brothers cheapo Black and Decker cordless drill and it worked like a charm. And just last week I borrowed my fathers corded Black and Decker and that also worked like a charm. The bits drilled straight and there was no unevenness or wobble to them at all.

Obviously something is wrong with these Makita drills. They seem very cheaply made. It seems like they have built themselves a reputation and decided to use that good reputation to phone it in on their newer drills. I am disgusted with this piece of crap and will be returning it for a refund. There is a Milwaukee drill that seems very similar that has gotten very similar reviews to this. It's model #2601-22. I suggest giving that a look and forgetting about this Makita unless you want headaches.

good really lightweight drill
i just bought the makita drill a month ago so dont reall have much to say other than it is powerful as it states really lightweight you can feel it right away which i think will improve in your projects ,the led light doesnt work that good since it doesnt light up where its supposed to just like around the bit because its located underneath the bit holder ,from what i heard from a friend of mine that has the same drill "is the best"
has a nice hard case

Great drill
This drill is lightweight and powerful.I wasn't sure about the 1.5ah batteries but after using it a few times they work great.Have only used it for light homeowners jobs not sure how they would hold up in industrial work.I like the LED light feature of staying on a little while after you let go of the trigger.Great Makita quality, no chuck wobble on mine.
