Best cordless vac but expensive.
Small dust bin but that's normal.
Even on half price it's double a Dustbuster but works so much better. But if you had to buy the batteries and charger you'd be looking at $300+ in total.
But I had the drill with 2 batteries and got this on sale for $70 which I thought was a fair price.

Completely satisfied
I was looking for something for those little clean ups in the kitchen, and TV room.
I never expected it to work so well. I only wanted it with the crevice tool. Then I used it with the little vac attachment. Nice machine for reasonable money. The only negative that I have is that they offer it with the smaller battery. So the tool with the larger battery is the way to go.
Buy it! Brian

GREAT VAC!
COMBINED WITH THE LARGER TOOL BATTERY, IT RUNS FOREVER. WE USE IT IN THE HOUSE ON OUR HARD WOOD FLOORS; IT DOES A GREAT JOB.

A Nice Addition
I and a few friends in the Furniture/Cabinet/Restoration business all own Makita's 140 series Impact Drivers. No need to go into how good they are.
When I noticed this little Vac using the same battery, My first thought was 'it's probably not that great' but the idea of the matching battery and portability really made me curious.
I carry an extensive set of installation tools when I visit a client's home or business. One of the more tedious items is a small corded vac to keep my work pristine during the day. Over the years I've handled many battery powered Vacs and never used one I like until now. No, it's not a miracle device, but it has suitable power thanks to the great battery and it's perfect next to my tools when I have to look sharp in front of clients. I doubt if I'll ever use the extension tube. The short thin nozzle is perfect for quick clean up work around the furniture and cabinets.
Battery life is very good. The momentary switch is obvious. It's designed for short burst use, just like the drills.

The first outing was in a high end condo for an extensive 3 day installation. By the end of the second day, the client, decorator, and move assistant were all borrowing the vac and putting it through a workout.
I eventually used it for drill and jig dust when the girls finished passing it around ;)

Everyone loved the thing, so it's officially part of the drill kit.

It works as advertised
Like another poster said, it works better than a dustbuster. It has decent power and pretty handy attachments.
But it was my mistake to assume it would do more than pick up drywall and saw dust. I am a big fan of all Makita's other 18v tools and would probably would give it another star, except for the price. It is just too expensive for something of such limited use.
